After the drain tiles and the waterproofing is applied, and the bank-run gravel is applied, the trenches are filled in with some of the dirt that
the excavation originally dug up.
We make sure the excavator shoots the basement to allow the top of the wall to be high enough out of the ground, to allow for the grading height. |

Grading height is one of the most important aspects of keeping water out of
your basement. A properly graded house is a house which has ground sloping away
from the structure; this keeps rainwater running downhill and away from your
basement. The current standard is to plan for a 1-foot drop in the 1st 10 feet.
The quality of the backfill dirt is important; we backfill only with dirt and gravel, and we make sure no foreign substances enter your backfill material. |
