Water is always trying to enter your home. The
exteriors of the basement walls must be treated properly
to resist the constant pressure of moisture from the
ground.
Typical basement waterproofing consists of layers of hot tar or a similar material applied to the exterior of your basement walls. To this hot tar is then bonded poly--short for polyethylene. Polyethylene is exceptionally resistant to water and also resists degradation--which is a perfect combination of properties for an application such as this. It is also inexpensive. At Ashley Homes, we use GMX Ultra-Shield and Fibrex-FBX Drainage Board, provided through Foundations4energy.com. |
